Abundant Life Church is honored to financially support nine indigenous/native missionaries every month. Although we support American missionaries to other counties through prayer and occasional financial support, we believe that native missionaries are uniquely prepared to bring the gospel to the lost in their own countries in a way that is best represented and received by those in their countries due to the break-down of culture, customs, and language barriers.
The reason we spend so much of our church budget on supporting missionaries is for one simple reason: Matthew 28:18-20 (otherwise known as The Great Commission).“Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”Obedience to this command is paramount for the health of the Church and an act of loving obedience to the Lord.We will continue to support all missionaries in both prayer and finances, but as a local church we feel specifically led by the Holy Spirit to financially support these nine native missionaries.
We work with three organizations whose vision it is to spread the gospel through native missionaries. For the safety of all those involved, we will only share some basic information on the specific missionaries that we support.
Advancing Native Missions (ANM) supports Soul Winners India who reach missionaries on bicycles to reach the seventy five percent of India’s population who live in villages.SWI also maintains a Bible School to train and support these missionaries. On average, 100 students graduate from this school each year. ANM also supports indigenous missionaries all throughout Indonesia and a missionary preparation school there as well.Through this organization we are also able to support native missionaries from Honduras, Uganda, the Philippines, and Myanmar. Please join in us prayer for these countries and the native missionaries who so faithfully serve in them.
Building Indigenous Missions supports and trains native missionaries in more than sixty countries. We specifically support a person who serves in his homeland of Pakistan.
Partners in Asian Missions impacts Nepal through their Emmanuel Training Center in the Himalayan Mountains. The school was established about ten years ago and now includes more than 40 mature churches.Even in the midst of great poverty, the believers in Nepal set aside their own finances to support the missionaries in their country. As members of a more financially sound country, we are blessed to add our own finances to theirs in an effort to bring to the gospel to the lost.
